L.A. Kollaboration 9 [2.21.09] Vidz….and POTENTIAL OUTTING-NESS~
Hello everybodies~
Long time no see! Miss you all dearly in these times of economic turmoil (whatever happened to the 800 billion dollars…I don’t see it!).
[ALERT] !!! IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF WORK TO DO, SKIP TO THE END OF THE ALERT SECTION !!! [ALERT]
First line of business. L.A. Kollaboration took place a week ago today (Saturday, Feb. 21st) at the Shrine Auditorium (6300 seater, which was sold out!) in Cali. Judging from the line-up of performers (contestants and guest performers, which you can youtube at your own discretion for further videos), the show must have been off the hooks. Here’s a glimpse:
Competing performers:
- Jane Lui – award-winning songwriter and performer with her rich and soulful voice
- Paul Dateh – hip hop violinist
- David Choi – Warner Chappell songwriter and David Bowie award-winning songwriter and performer
- Kenichi Ebina – the only two-time Grand Champion of Showtime at the Apollo, actor and choreographer of the Jap. drama Manhattan Diaries
- Jazmin – the four sister pop-group finalists of MTV’s Top Pop Group and NBC’s America’s Got Talent
- Kina Grannis – Interscope Record’s singer and songwriter
- Lilybeth Evardome – Concerto protege of Andrew Robinson of the L.A. Philharmonic
Guest performers:
- Kaba Modern – MTV ABDC Season 1 3rd place (way more popular than 2nd placers)
- Fanny Pak – MTV ABDC Season 2 3rd place (…seems to be a pattern here…and no I am not biased)
- Team Millenia – opened the show (they closed with a dance to kpop stars Wondergirls – Tell Me. This is specifically for Matt XD)
- BoA (…and I don’t mean the snake!)
Judges:
- Moon Bloodgood – Actress of Terminator: Salvation, Eight Below, Street Fighter 4: Legend of Chun Li
- James Kyson Lee – Actor of Heroes
- James Ryu – Editor-in-Chief of KoreaAm Journal and Audrey magazine
- Welly Yang – director of Asian Excellence Awards
- Teddy Zee – Producer of The Pursuit of Happyness, Hitch
So without further ado, here are some videos I’ve scraped together (all fancam, so quality isn’t too great).

[ALERT] !!!ALERT SECTION ENDS HERE!!! [ALERT]
Alrighty, so I got to thinking it’s around time everyone’s getting hungry again. The Woori Village trip last quarter was epic, but since we didn’t get the freakishly awesome/cool reservation room, I’d like to suggest another trip, reservation room included (and possibly the karaoke next door for a fuller package!). With reading week in about a week’s time, I think it’s time we paid Woori another visit. I don’t know what time is best for the majority, but seeing as DM is this coming Friday-Sunday…I’m thinking either Thursday or Friday dinner of reading week. If not, I’ll have to push it back to the first week of Spring quarter (wtfreak…it’s already spring??). Ok, start replying! =)

I prefer Friday, as I have a final project due and would rather celebrate after finishing than assume that I’ll finish before Thursday night festivities. One can hope, though.

It seems like a lot of people are leaning towards Thursday, which should be fine for me too.
