Inspiration from a friend

Senegalese Breakers – These bboys and bgirls take it to the beach because they have no where else to break. They’re called nomads because they they’re constantly on the move. We complain about lack of dance space here, but in Senegal, they don’t even have what we do. Not that we should feel guilty, but to be thankful because of it.

What More Can I say- Eun Lee’s project blog Finished and ready to be presented. Goal: to examine ReFresH: a hip hop dance crew, largely comprised of Asians and Asian-Americans, based at Northwestern University. (names changed for confidentiality ie Chris is not Bboy ChrisKnow)

The study of a hip hop dance crew reveals a symbiotic relationship between community and self-expression, which may serve as a model for music educators tackling issues of multiculturalism in their classroom culture and curriculum.

Battle to be Known 3

Hey all,

There’s a two day battle coming up on Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s is a 1v1 at:
Starts at 10:00PM
Between Boutique Lounge and Cafe
1324 N. Milwaukee Ave

I think there are still spots open, unfortunately it’s only 21+
I’ll probably go unless this week absolutely kills me (which it might)

Saturday is a 3v3 at:
Starts at 6:00PM
DePaul University Student Center Multi-Purpose Room
2250 North Sheffield

This is all ages, but unfortunately I think all the spots are taken.  But this is a huge event and it’d definitely be worth going just to cypher or watch.
The location is easy too, just hop on the red line to Lincoln Park.
